Comfrey is well known for its skin repair and regenerating properties. The Latin name 'symphytum' means 'heal together'.
In ancient times it was called 'knitbone'.
OrganicaJ makes this ointment entirely from picking the organic leaves off the plant by hand. Made in a small batch, for optimum connection with nature. It is harvested by hand on private ground in a rural area of Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Only the most perfect leaves are selected for optimum efficacy and slowly macerated (cold process) in organic sunflower oil.
The ointment she creates is a luscious green colour from the herb and has a wonderful feel on skin. Enjoy the nourishing combination of wildcrafted and organic vegetable oils and soothing organic lavender essential oil.
The comfrey ointment is also excellent for use for alleviating stiffness in the body eg hands, knees etc. Also for helping with repair of sprains and strains, ligament damage and lots more.
Customers over many years have reported a great synergy between our Muscle Rub and the Comfrey Ointment. They are helpful to use together for certain issues. Apply the Muscle Rub first and gently massage into skin, then apply a little of the Comfrey Ointment and massage into the skin - to enhance the action of both. The optimum application time for these products used in this way, are prior to going to bed at night.
The jars are glass and the lids aluminium - all recyclable!
