Mum and Baby Yoga

WHY DO BABY YOGA WITH YOUR BABY?
  • Baby Yoga includes movement and rhythm to stimulate your baby.
  • Baby Yoga aims to involve all your baby’s senses (Baby Sensory) and develop a mutual understanding between baby and parents.
  • There appear to be many incidental benefits of Baby Yoga, for example improved digestion as some of the movements massage the abdomen. The cross-patterning exercises you are taught aim to help Brain Development. Sleep Pattern may improve and you are shown moves to help calm a fractious baby.
  • Baby Yoga may increase your confidence when handling your baby and in more advanced lessons you may choose to be more daring, though initially you are advised to watch the teacher carefully as they demonstrate on a weighted doll.
  • Above all remember that Baby Yoga is done with your Baby not too them.
  • Yoga stimulates your baby’s movement and he/she may want to kick, so let them.
  • Pay attention to your baby’s responses. Keep checking and use your own judgement. Your baby’s response will encourage you to go on, or just rest and be still with your baby.
  • Never force your baby to do anything in the class. Just watch your baby move and sing along or talk to them since it is not necessary to keep up with the class all the time.

Your Teacher will not demonstrate or touch your baby during the class.
